From my twitter account < @asthesunrises77 >
A recall of the idea of having a radius with the CN Tower as a reference point exclusive for cyclists, delivery vehicles /trucks, and NO PARKING on the streets .
citizens coming to work who have a indoor parking will be able to access the radius .
Changes must be made to protect cyclists.
Cyclists versus vehicles
As I stated some time ago (this on my platform for by-election 2021 for Scarborough-Agincourt) as Vancouver was considering charging a fee for vehicles to go to its downtown core(news on twitter), the downtown core must become for Public Transit @TTChelps
starting with a small radius that will be enlarged eventually. There are two features to this endeavor which I will not disclosed at this time. But knowing of the fatalities involving cyclists there is much work to be done
To avoid speculation, here's the idea already stated in my platform:
the downtown core of @cityoftoronto will be to @TTChelps
riders only. There will be no parking on the streets for vehicles except for DELIVERY VEHICLES & TRUCKS which will not fear to park for they will not have any ticket for parking. This endeavor can start with a small RADIUS with the CN TOWER as a reference point. The radius exclusive to
@TTChelps
riders will be secured with PARKING LOTS in the East, at center Town & in the West. This will be as far as any vehicle can go except for those who have indoor parking when coming to work in
@cityoftoronto 's downtown core.
The SPEED LIMIT should be LOW & SUPPORTED by the Law for the safety of everyone including CYCLISTS.
The RADIUS can be expanded as we implement this endeavor pushing parking lots further outward
Let me add that LIGHTING will be EXTERMELY IMPORTANT at all times of the day especially in the evening where it can be difficult to see.
The latest CYCLIST fatality happened IN THE EVENING.
