Questions submitted by attendees during the Q & A. My answers.

1. How effective is creating a more inclusive government here in Scarborough

Agincourt. What will that do to help youth?

City councillors must be mindful of the residents which come from many countries when performing their duties.

It will surely influence the youth and feel more inclusive and that their cause has been given attention.

2. What are your thoughts & what approach do you have to tackle gun violence in Scarborough?

Gun Violence

Tavis police program will have to be re-instated but the cops will have to go after the guns.

It will not be sufficient to keep the guns at bay like in the past with this program.

We all remember the 12 year old boy who died of his injuries due to gun violence.

** Part of the solution will be : if you are found with a firearm with which you are not entitled to have on yourself or in your dwelling, you will be deported.

3. What part of community safety is a priority for you?

Community safety is a priority for me.

There is no part of it that is more important than another .

4. Women and young people have lost their jobs at disproportionate rates? How will you

help support job recovery for these communities?

I did address this on Twitter to the Prime Minister and to another politician. How can we have an economic recovery when businesses are closing permanently not been able to give employment anymore ?

It will be difficult. All those lockdowns contribute at higher unemployment especially when businesses close permanently.

The possibility that I see to create employment will be through government creation of employment.

5. Scarborough has always been under-represented. How will you address the current situation with the lack of social programs, affordable housing and homelessness? We also need to bring back jobs to the community. Expanding transit may be one

solution but how will we ensure that the funds will be funneled properly?

Good paying jobs are from government ,from al three levels like e.g. the TTC: more TTC in the ward, more employment if TTC hires from the ward.

6. What do you believe should be the future of the Huntingwood bike lanes and where does cycling infrastructure fit into ward 22?

I came across a project along Finch Ave about a cycling path .

I think this project is under way.

I am totally for cycling paths. But they must be well lighted and protected against vehicle traffic.

7. TTC fares have been raised, with what seems like no end in sight. I am wondering how candidates plan to address the affordability crisis on the TTC?

Well Mayor John Tory just recently announced that there will be no increase in the TTC fare.

Who pays for the TTC? People who work and pay taxes.

And the TTC is already subsidized.

The TTC is not free although the price of riding the TTC could be lowered.

*** Transit must reach every corner of the city, every corner of the ward.

8. What is preventing us from working together? What would be your number 1 goal in the first 3 months of your new term?

I think it would be a combination of several issues that need to be addressed simultaneously.

And that is TRANSIT;

HOMELESSNESS;

GUN VIOLENCE

9. What is your plan on reducing/eliminating traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries, especially for vulnerable road users: pedestrians and cyclists?

Reducing speed limits;

Well lighted cycling paths bordered by a low wall to protect

10. With no Neighbourhood Improvement Areas in the Ward, how do you plan to advocate for additional resources to residents in the community - especially for equity seeking people and youth in Scarborough-Agincourt?

Sports activity would be beneficial for youth and hopefully, while developing a good attitude of sportsmanship ,will keep them out of trouble.

11. Even though the provincial government has recently rescinded ranked ballots for municipal elections, the fact that there are 27 candidates running for this ward only

serves to highlight the need for a preferential vote that better reflects the community’s wishes of who they wish for as their next councillor. Should a future government reinstate the use of ranked ballots in municipalities, would you vote in favour of

Toronto adopting this voting method in 2026 or in the future? Why or why not?

I have learned about ranked ballots.

Voting by preference is okay with me.

Basic reason: as long as the wish of the people is met.

12. High insurance rates are due to insurance fraud, accidents and auto theft. What would the candidates do to bring about a change to cut down the above issues, and then lower the rates?

If there’s insurance fraud , the police must get involved.

Auto insurance is a provincial responsibility.

Of course if there is control, then rates can go down.

I terms of auto theft, I think insurance company must be offering some discounts if the vehicle is equipped with for e.g. GPS (Global Positioning System).

13. What will you do to support people of colour and other marginalized groups who have been disproportionately bearing the brunt of COVID-19?

Two groups of people have been identified as VITAMIN D deficient: black people and Hispanic. This is the reason why these two groups of people are specifically affected.

Now you know what to do.

14. How do you plan to address youth educational programs for youth in the criminal justice system?

Isn’t that a Federal jurisdiction?

If this is an issue , I would surely forwarded to the member of Parliament so it can be addressed

15. What has been a lesson you've learned during COVID-19 you will bring to city hall?

There is a lot of controversy concerning the approach all three levels of government have used : social distancing, physical distancing, lockdowns and masks are not cures, but are postponing the inevitable : going to a hospital.

Check my website to learn what you can do to keep healthy during this time .

16. How will the candidates make the ward more environmentally friend and sustainable?

Vehicles burn fossil fuel.

If vehicles were using electricity, solar power and hydrogen/oxygen fuel cells, the ward would be environmentally friendly.

More green spaces are also good.

17. How will the candidates address the licensing of shared housing?

?

18. Would you urge Mayor John Tory to demand that ODSP and OW Benefits be doubled so that he can quit wasting taxpayers money housing people in Shelters and Hotels at $6000.00 a month per person? ODSP clients only get $497.00 for rent and

OW clients only get $390.00 so would you advocate to have the ODSP Shelter Allowance doubled or tripled in order to coincide with today's average market rent on a one bedroom apartment or bachelor unit and OW Shelter Allowance doubled or brought up to average market rent for a room?

No.

19. In light of the TDSB announcing recently that they are preparing for a full transition to online school in the new year, how do you propose the City can accommodate online learning for students and teachers?

By providing the hardware like computers, and providing the internet at a reasonable price , allowing a low internet fee.
