This is an important issue at this time as we strive to have better TRANSIT.
We need PLATFORM EDGE DOORS for the Bloor and Yonge Subway station, and for St.George Subway station, and for Broadview subway station where a blind man recently fell onto the tracks of the subway .
These platform edge doors will increase efficiency of the subway on the line , speeding up the trains in the area of the subway station.
They will also SECURE THE SAFETY of TTC passengers.
We have already witness OVERCROWDING at Bloor and Yogne Subway station this year in February of 2018. IT was packed with TTC passengers. One person took a video of the situation and show it on twitter: we could see people stranded , not being able to move, even on the escalator.
And that person was heard saying : "Somebody is waiting for an accident to happen".
Will we wait for an accident t happen? It already has, at Broadview subway station.
This is the reason why we need those platform edge doors installed a.s.a.p.
The city of Toronto has received nine (9) Billion dollars for transit .
We can take some of that money and improve efficiency of the Subway line, and at the same time, we can SECURE the SAFETY of PASSENGERS.
For your viewing interest and proof of fact, these platform edge doors can be found at Union Station at the UP EXPRESS departure station, and at the UP EXPRESS arrival at the Toronto Pearson International Airport. They can also be found at the Toronto Pearson International Airport where the Link mini-rail train links Terminal 1 to Terminal 3.
This project should have been approved and started a long time ago, for the sake of the Safety of passengers, and for the sake of improving efficiency of the subway on the line speeding it up .
